Q: Are you open to the public seven days a week?
A: No, we will be closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for other events and gatherings.
Q: What do you grow on the farm and are the blooms grown organically?
A: We’re the fifth generation of Shermans to farm this land, continuing a proud legacy with deep roots in the prairie soil. Today, we grow our signature Sugar Hubbard squash, host a beloved community pumpkin patch, and cultivate vibrant sunflower fields for all to enjoy. Our farm is spray-free—we never use chemicals or pesticides on any of our crops—so you can feel good about what you’re bringing home.
Q: Are there any ziplines, rides, bouncy houses, etc.?
A: Nope. We are located in the heart of Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve, and part of our role is to help maintain the rural character of the magnificent landscape of Ebey's prairie. We are a working farm, not an event facility, so the visitor experience is geared towards the unique experience of visiting a multi-generational family farm, rather than an amusement park like setting.
Q: Have sunflowers been grown on the prairie in the past?
A: Yes! Many farmers have grown sunflowers, including lots of family members, but as far as we know, we are the first to open up a farm for visitors to explore and roam the flower fields.
We ask that visitors stay in the sunflower area; we are surrounded by working farms and crops that are not meant for treading on. Thanks for respecting your local farmers. 🌻😊
